Our Review of the Sprint Racer 2 Indoor CycleHow Easy is the Indoor Cycle to Build? The Sprint Racer indoor cycle is very easy to build. Attach the stabilisers at the front and rear of the bike, drop in the seat and handlebars, attach the pedals and console and you're ready to ride. Takes about 15 minutes in totalWhat are the first impressions? This indoor cycle has been designed by us and it incorporates all of the good things that you'll want in an indoor cycle: - Adjustability of the seat and handlebars (both horizontally and vertically) is very easy to do so that you can achieve your optimum position - The bike is easy to move because of the transport wheels on the front stabiliser bar, so you can move it out of the way when you've finished using it - 20kg flywheel is a great size for this price of bike - Belt drive so there's no real maintenance on this bike - Console gives good feedback when cyclingWhat's it like to ride? Excellent. The 20kg flywheel coupled with the belt drives makes this bike very quiet and extremely smooth. If you're wondering whether this will match up to the spin bike in your class then the short answer is "yes - it will feel better!": - Because of the belt drive the ride is very quiet and very smooth - The friction resistance works extremely well which enables you to make the workout as easy or hard as you like, and of course you can vary this resistance during your workout by turning the adjuster knob as you cycle. - At high speeds and/or resistance, when you're putting more strain on the bike, it still feels very stable and solid. There's no frame distortion which demonstrates the qualiity and strength of the frame. - The console shows good information including speed, distance, time and calories burnedAny niggles? No - this is our best friction brake bike for the price.Anything else to add? This is an indoor cycle that's very easy to live with. There's no routine maintenance, other than keeping the bike clean. If the drive belt needs adjusting then it's very easy to do but it's something that you won't need to do very often.Overall Impression? A fantastic commercial grade bike with excellent features and build quality. Buy one and you won't be disappointed.
Do you have a question about the Sprint Racer 2 Indoor Cycle?
If you can't find the answer that you're looking for below then please click here and ask us a question. If we're online we'll give you an answer immediately, otherwise we'll try our best to respond on the same working day.
Cycle Specific Questions Q. What the minimum/maximum recommended user height for this bike? A. This indoor cycle can be used by anyone from 5ft3 (160cm) to 6ft6 (198cm). This is because the position of the seat and handlebars can be adjusted horizontally and vertically, so most people can find a comfortable position.
Q. I'm a beginner - is this bike suitable? A. The bike is designed for up to 20 hours use per week, which is usually enough for beginners. It has all the features that you need to get cycling.
Q. Can the seat be swapped for a normal bike seat? A. Yes. It's a standard bike seat fitting so you can attach a different seat if you want to.
Q. I'm looking at a different bike at the same price but it's a chain drive. What's best? A. You're always better choosing a belt drive bike unless you specifically want the feel of the chain - there's less maintenance and generally belt drive bikes last longer.
Q. What's the size of the flywheel? A. The Sprint Racer 2 has a 20kg flywheel - you'll find that this is higher than most other bikes at this price.
Q. I'm 15st - is this bike suitable? A. Yes. The maximum user weight on this bike is 130kg.
Q. Do the pedals take SPD cleats? A. Yes.
Q. Can I use my heart rate belt with this bike? A. Yes.
General Questions Q. Is this bike difficult to assemble? A. No - instructions are included and we cover the build in our review of the bike as well. Just pay particular attention to attaching the pedals correctly.
Q. Can you assemble the bike for me? A. Yes. We can deliver the bike fully assembled. We will pack/wrap the bike for transportation but can't accept liability for any damage that is caused whilst the bike is in transit. Alternatively, we can arrange for a technician to visit your home to build the bike for you at an additional cost (please ask for current prices).
Q. Do I need a mat underneath the bike? A. We recommend that you have a mat underneath your indoor cycle to protect the floor but it's entirely up to you.
Q. Do you sell second hand or refurbished bikes? A. Generally not. Unfortunately it's not cost effective for us to refurbish indoor cycles to a standard that would be in keeping with our reputation. To fully refurbish an indoor cycle, the crank; crank arms; flywheel bearings; drive belt; pedals; seat and handlebars all need to be replaced. In addition, the frame needs to be checked for corrosion and distortion. In doing this work to the correct standard, the price of a fully refurbished indoor bike would be about the same as a new one. It's for this reason that we don't normally offer refurbished or second hand bikes for sale, and we strongly recommend that you fully understand how a bike has been refurbished before buying one.

Excellent spin bike I'm absolutely over the moon with this indoor cycle. It's a quality piece of kit, for superior to the spin bikes that we have in my local gym. Really easy to assemble. I really felt like I got a thorough work out too, the tension is top notch! Excellent communication from Andy. (11/06/2017) Clare - North Wales

Good product, excellent service. Great product, very sturdy, well made, easy to assemble, reasonable price for the quality. The delivery people contacted me the day before and gave me a 15 minute delivery window and they arrived bang on time! Have only used it a couple of times so far but can see no problems with this equipment. (06/04/2017) Paul Devonshire - Devon

Pretty sturdy bike - negatives Would like to point out negatives given most people are only pointing out the positives. The display runs out of battery every 2 weeks, the resistance increases very dramatically and the bike won't be suitable if you are 5' 4" or smaller. There is character limit so cant type anything constuctive. (01/04/2017) Kelvin Ip - Glasgow
Our Reply: Hi Kelvin - thanks for your comments. It sounds like your console is faulty - if you can contact our service team by emailing email@example.com we'll be happy to swap this for you. Regarding the resistance - what you're describing is normal for a new bike. You need to apply some 3 in 1 oil to the flywheel to reduce the amount of friction generated by the pad. Once the pad has fully bedded in you'll have a good range of resistance.
Outstanding The service has been excellent; delivery and help. I was contacted to let me know that the bike I bought was not in supply and I was offered a free upgrade! Wonderful. I am a competitive rower and use the bike when carrying injuries. I am already recommending you to everyone. Wonderful! (14/03/2017) -

Good bike for money and great customer service Andy was great from beginning to delivery and after, always being available to answer my questions. The bikes look good and are solid. They don't wobble or move about and the adjustments, whilst take a bit of getting used to do the job. For a budget bike, these have made my studio look really good. sturdy, smooth, good looking and quiet The title summarizes our impressions. It took 20 min to assemble and it was not difficult. The spin bike is comparable in many aspects to professional equivalents, which would cost at least twice as much. It is heavy but so easy to move around on both wood and carpet. Very strongly recommended! (16/04/2016) -

Really pleased with the Sprint Racer 2 Chose the Spring Racer 2 for an alternative to my standard outdoor runs. Couldn't be happier with the decision. Great quality bike -- sturdy, quiet, compact, good resistance. Seems a fair price for the product. Very pleased with the bike and with the service -- no issues and great delivery. Excellent I was really impressed with the quality of the bike. It feels so solid and is very quiet. Is there any way to toggle between KPH and MPH on the console. The instructions do not say how to do this and I can find no settings to change. Thanks (03/04/2016) Sarah C - Cambs.
Our Reply: Thanks Sarah. The display shows KM/H - we've given your feedback to the manufacturer to check if a MP/H version is available
Delighted and Very Impressed The cycle is very well made, extremely robust and will last for ages. It is a bargain price and is better than lots of others. In use it is very quiet, stable and smooth. I also purchased the chest strap to make good use of the display to show my heart rate. (14/03/2016) Michael Beavis - Isle of Wight
Our Reply: Thanks for taking the time to leave a review Michael - as you point out this is a really good quality bike for the price. It's far better than anything else that we've seen at this price
Really Good Home Gym Bike There are hundreds of 'spinning bikes' available and it really is a nightmare to try and choose. I chose this because of the other ratings and I am not disappointed. It is really sturdy and well built. The adjustments for both saddle and handlebars allow me to get a good position (I am 1.85m) (31/01/2016) Mike - Somerset

Fantastic bike and service Received my bike before Christmas, my boyfriend built it with no issues. It's brilliant - better then the one I use in the gym. It had a squeak on high resistance but Andy helped and now it's better then it originally was. Great bike and great service. Recommend contacting Andy if you need any help.
