Our Review of the BH Fitness SB2.2 Indoor CycleHow Easy is the Indoor Cycle to Build? We were able to build the SB2.2 within a few minutes. All of the components fitted together very well with all holes perfectly aligned to accept the fixing bolts. What are the first impressions? For the price, this is a quality indoor cycle. The frame feels robust, the paintwork is very good and the overall look and finish of the bike is very similar to bikes that are twice the price. What's it like to ride? The SB2.2 has a drive belt to connect the pedal crank to the flywheel so it's a very quiet indoor cycle to use. It's also very smooth which is due to the drive mechanism and the hefty 20kg flywheel. The console is nice and simple and provides some good information for you to monitor your ride as you go. Good adjustability on the seat and handlebars means that you can find the optimum position for your size which is essential when embarking on a training stint.Any niggles? A sweat guard for the flywheel would have been useful, so ensure you wipe the bike down after use.Anything else to add? As with most BH Fitness indoor cycles, this is a good value indoor cycle for the price.Overall Impression? The BH Fitness SB2.2 is a really good indoor cycle. The build quality is excellent and all in all this makes for a good value indoor cycle.
Do you have a question about the BH Fitness SB2.2 Indoor Cycle?
If you can't find the answer that you're looking for below then please click here and ask us a question. If we're online we'll give you an answer immediately, otherwise we'll try our best to respond on the same working day.
Cycle Specific Questions Q. What the minimum/maximum recommended user height for this bike? A. This indoor cycle can be used by anyone from 5ft3 (160cm) to 6ft6 (198cm). This is because the position of the seat and handlebars can be adjusted horizontally and vertically, so most people can find a comfortable position.
Q. Can the seat be swapped for a normal bike seat? A. Yes. It's a standard bike seat fitting so you can attach a different seat if you want to.
Q. Is an 20kg flywheel large enough? A. Yes. Anything over 16kg is fine.
Q. Does the console show Watts? A. Not on this the SB2.2. You need to look at model higher in the range if you want to measure Watts.
Q. I want to do up to about 1 hour spinning per day. Is this bike suitable? A. Yes. If you're likely to increase your usage of the bike then we'd recommend looking at the light commercial models instead.
Q. I'm 16st - is this bike suitable? A. Yes. The maximum user weight on this bike is 115kg (approx 18st).
Q. Do the pedals take SPD cleats? A. No. You can upgrade to the SPD compatible pedals.
General Questions Q. Is this bike difficult to assemble? A. No - instructions are included and we cover the build in our review of the bike as well. Just pay particular attention to attaching the pedals correctly.
Q. Can you assemble the bike for me? A. Yes. We can deliver the bike fully assembled. We will pack/wrap the bike for transportation but can't accept liability for any damage that is caused whilst the bike is in transit. Alternatively, we can arrange for a technician to visit your home to build the bike for you at an additional cost (please ask for current prices).
Q. Do I need a mat underneath the bike? A. We recommend that you have a mat underneath your indoor cycle to protect the floor but it's entirely up to you.
Q. Do you sell second hand or refurbished bikes? A. Generally not. Unfortunately it's not cost effective for us to refurbish indoor cycles to a standard that would be in keeping with our reputation. To fully refurbish an indoor cycle, the crank; crank arms; flywheel bearings; drive belt; pedals; seat and handlebars all need to be replaced. In addition, the frame needs to be checked for corrosion and distortion. In doing this work to the correct standard, the price of a fully refurbished indoor bike would be about the same as a new one. It's for this reason that we don't normally offer refurbished or second hand bikes for sale, and we strongly recommend that you fully understand how a bike has been refurbished before buying one.
